Qualifications And Journey:

Dr. Perl originally qualified as a medical practitioner from St. Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1984. He then went on to create and develop docleaf one of the UK’s most successful crisis management consultancies with multinational clients from pharma, tourism, aviation and defence.

He holds qualifications in Leadership Coaching and is a qualified psychotherapist and is experienced in hypnotherapy and NLP.  The origins of docleaf came from David’s passions for commerce, travel and working with trauma and critical incidents. Mentoring CEO’s in crises led him to be curious about the variation in their performance. As a result of this, the seeds were sown in developing his desire to help high achievers perform more effectively.

In his 20 years of running docleaf, Dr. Perl speaks internationally on the psychology of business leadership and crisis management.

Dr. Perl’s own journey led him to train as a psychotherapist where he works with people impacted by relationship issues, addiction and trauma.  He also works with his wife of 31 years as a relationship and marriage therapist through their LoveRelations practice. There is a strong synergy with this work and leadership coaching as at the heart of both, is self-awareness and an understanding of interpersonal relations.

He then went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in Leadership Coaching from the Institute of Psychosynthesis.

David remains passionate about his own growth and increased self-awareness. This forms part of his own personal mission of “ongoing self-development, teaching and helping others”. David believes that personal growth and professional development are inter-twined.  He maintains that “no-one can perform well, unless they are conscious and committed”.

Giving Back:

Dr. Perl gives back by being actively involved with the ManKind Project. This is a charity that helps men become better leaders, partners, fathers and to be the best versions of themselves.

In his spare time, he has a passion for all things aviation related. He completed his Private Pilots License a number of years ago and then went onto build an aerobatic home-built aircraft which he flies around Europe when time and weather allow.

Dr. Perl’s Values:

Honesty: Telling the truth and backing it up with actions show respect for what’s right and an esteem for ethical and moral integrity.

Integrity: Doing the right thing every time.

Taking personal responsibility: No blame shifting, being personally accountable for all actions all the time.

Discretion: As a medical doctor and qualified psychotherapist, Dr. Perl is well versed in maintaining professional and personal boundaries and treating confidentiality with the highest priority. He treats all material – whether personal, professional or industry-related with the utmost respect.

Self Awareness: Emotional awareness, accurate self-assessment, and self-confidence.  Its about knowing his emotions, his personal strengths and weaknesses, and having a strong sense of his own worth.

Personal Development: This is a lifelong process. It is a way for Dr. Perl to assess his skills and qualities, consider his aims in life and set goals in order to realise and maximise his potential.
